Yoga and Pilates are best done on an empty stomach, though you do not want to feel weak or ungrounded. Make sure you allow yourself 3-4 hours after eating to digest a full meal before classes, or 1 hour for a snack.

Clothing

Clean and neat to be honouring and uplifting! Simple design, with no belt buckles, zips or buttons to hurt you during exercise. It is best not to wear clothes that are very very baggy as it will then be difficult for the teacher to observe the line and movement of your body, and it will also make life difficult for you when you bend over and the loose t-shirt falls over your head, obstructing your breathing! Bare feet are essential.

Female issues

Menstruation. Women should avoid strenuous practice during their menstrual periods. In particular, avoid inverted postures, as if the inverted postures are held for a long time this may cause the menstrual flow to be interrupted.

Equipment

All equipment is provided at the studio, so you do not need to bring your own mat, however you are welcome to do so if you prefer.

Water

Filtered tap water is available at the studio, so please bring
your own bottled water if you prefer that.
