Feldenkrais is a gentle and practical method for learning skills for living
in your body with ease and improving your coordination and posture. As adults
we lose the fluidity and effortlessness of movement that we naturally had as children.
Feldenkrais sessions help you reconnect with this by developing more possibilities for movement.
You awaken your inherent ability to discover, learn and reach your full potential.
The method works by helping you heighten your internal awareness of how you move and breathe
while performing everyday actions and you learn to move with greater ease, flexibility and grace.
Regular lessons can permanently improve your posture, balance and physical coordination.
Hannah also offers private Functional Integration® sessions. These are particularly suitable for
recovery from injury, Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological disorders and for children with
developmental delay.
Awareness Through Movement®
Awareness Through Movement lessons verbally guide you through gentle movement sequences that
develop body awareness, alleviate tension and lead you to discover ways to coordinate your entire
body in harmonious action. You learn to move with more agility, strength and efficiency by freeing
yourself from ingrained holding patterns and habits. You learn to use a minimum of muscular effort,
to rely on your skeletal structure for support, and to utilise the strongest core muscles to do the
greater part of the work in movement. You will find you can achieve more while doing less.
The Feldenkrais Method is for you if:
• you have restricted movement or pain
• you suffer from respiratory problems,
fatigue or anxiety
• you want to increase your vitality and well-being
• you want to become more graceful and agile
• you are a performer wishing to refine your art and improve your skills
• an injury has disturbed the way your body functions
• you are involved in sports or movement teaching
